IAHCSMM's certification programs are the most highly recognized for quality and thoroughness within the healthcare industry. If you currently hold alternate certification, but wish to join the thousands of IAHCSMM members who hold the Certified Registered Central Service Technician designation, the transferring process couldn’t be easier. IAHCSMM recognizes certification from other organizations, without the need for re-testing.
In order to promote ongoing quality and maintain the standards and integrity of the profession, IAHCSMM requires that those wishing to transfer their certification meet specific criteria.
To be considered for a transfer of current certification to an IAHCSMM CRCST certification, applicants must indicate their name and contact information, and then complete all of the first four sections of the application:
Section One: Proof of Certification with another association (current
and non-expired)
Section Two: Verification of 400 hours of "hands-on" experience
Section Three: Proof of 12 contact hours of continuing education in the past
12 months
Section Four: Supervisor verification
For those wishing to transfer additional applicable certifications to an IAHCSMM CHL or CIS certification, a current IAHCSMM CRCST certification must be valid prior to submitting a transfer request.
To be considered for a transfer of current certification to an IAHCSMM CIS certification, applicants must indicate their name and contact information, and then complete all sections of the application, as indicated below:
Section One: Proof of Certification with another association (current and non-expired) PER requested certification transfer type
Section Two: Complete only if transferring to CRCST on the same application as your CHL and CIS transfer requests
Section Three: 6 contact hours of continuing education in the past 12 months (if also transferring CRCST on the same application, you must show a total of 18 contact hours)
Section Four: Supervisor verification
Section Five: Verification of 200 hours of additional "hands-on" experience focusing on instrumentation
